Upper Mustang lies in the Himalayan region of Mustang district that was founded by Ame Pal. It is the area that used to be commercially connected to Tibet and India. A long time ago, it consisted of the different number of small kingdoms that were united with the seat of the Lo Manthang which was known as the Royal Town. The total area of Upper Mustang is 780 sq. miles. It has a total population of more than 7,000. Upper Mustang is a part of Nepal since 1790 A.D. The autonomy of Mustang was abolished in 2008 A.D. Before 1992, Upper Mustang was renamed as the restricted demilitarized area where the tourists were hardly permitted to visit the place. It has the people with the majority of speaking the Tibetan language. People living in this place follow the Buddhist religion. Every year many tourists from various parts of the world visit this place. It is an admired location for many travel seekers. Many bike riders also come here to experience their bike riding in the mountain region of Nepal.

The journey of Upper Mustang finishes in about 14 to 16 days depending on the physical fitness of the person and the routes to access. The journey after you arrive in Kathmandu. We drive towards Pokhara and Jomsom and then trek along with different forests and villages. The journey finishes lastly back in Kathmandu.
